The data was already there
Meters, sensors, technical manuals. Operators crossed them at the end of the month, and a procedure was found by paging through the manuals. The twin puts the sensor in its place on the plant, and a question gets an answer you can check.
On the pilot plant
Field devices come in on one stream. On the twin you see where and when energy is used. A technician asks, and the answer cites the data or the page it came from. The archive can be slow: the screens are not, because the live path travels on its own. The data stays in the client’s cloud account.
The client is under a confidentiality agreement. The system is in use on the pilot, and it is being extended to the other sites.
If the devices do not fit the platform you have
You take the piece that does not talk to the rest and you trial that, with a scope and a price. If the trial fails, the rest does not get built around it.
